code of conduct
OVERVIEW
KL Swing is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and comfortable experience for everyone at their classes and events. Therefore all participants, instructors, staff and volunteers at KL Swing events are required to comply with the following code of conduct to help ensure a safe environment for everybody.
THE FULL THING
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of workshops or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Participants asked to stop any harassing or inappropriate behavior are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in inappropriate behavior, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event with no refund.
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of staff immediately.
Staff will be happy to help participants contact venue staff or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event. We value your attendance and your safety.
We expect all participants to follow these rules at dance and workshop venues.
SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING
You are encouraged to report incidents that happen directly to you or that you witness to help bring inappropriate or harassing behavior to the attention of the staff. You can:
• Email info@klswing.com
• speak to your teacher after class or any staff member at an event.
All incidents will be taken seriously, and dealt with in a discreet and prudent manner.
